In a case of homicide, the appellant's theory of self-defense must fail where they had more reason than the victim to be resentful and aggressive by reason of the latter's having stolen bananas: from their plantation loading them in a bus; where the appellants were greater in number and therefore the victim would not ordinarily dare provoke a fight in such situation, it being reasonable to suppose that they, who chose to follow the victim and accuse him of theft, would certainly not permit the latter to have a chance to attack them first.
