MANUEL G. VILLATUYA v. ATTY. BEDE S. TABALINGCOS

This case has been cited 2 times or more.

2015-11-16
PER CURIAM
In Villatuya v. Tabalingcos,[36] the respondent lawyer was disbarred because he was found to have entered into marriage twice while his first marriage was still subsisting. The Court declared that he exhibited a deplorable lack of that degree of morality required of him as a member of the Bar. He made a mockery of marriage, a sacred institution demanding respect and dignity.

REYES, J.
"It is well to remember that in disbarment proceedings, the burden of proof rests upon the complainant.  For the Court to exercise its disciplinary powers, the case against the respondent must be established by convincing and satisfactory proof."[26]
