| As clients, it is the petitioners' correlative duty to be in contact with Atty. Corpuz from time to time to inform themselves of the status of their case.[31] Considering that what is at stake is their liberty, they should have exercised the standard of care which an ordinarily prudent man devotes to his business. The petitioners cannot simply leave the fate of their case entirely to their counsel and later on pass the blame to the latter.
