VELASCO JR., J.
As defined, a real party-in-interest is the party who stands to be benefited or injured by the judgment in the suit, or the party entitled to the avails of the suit.[39] Generally, every action must be prosecuted or defended in the name of the real parties-in-interest.[40] In other words, the action must be brought by the person who, by substantive law, possesses the right sought to be enforced.[41] Alternatively, one who has no right or interest to protect cannot invoke the jurisdiction of the court as party-plaintiff-in-action for it is jurisprudentially ordained that every action must be prosecuted or defended in the name of the real party-in-interest.[42]

Even assuming that members of the Supervisory Group are not regular farmworkers, but are in the category of "other farmworkers" mentioned in Sec. 4, Article  XIII of the Constitution, [89] thus only entitled to a share of the fruits of the land, as indeed Fortich teaches, this does not detract from the fact that they are still identified as being among the "SDP qualified beneficiaries." As such, they are, thus, entitled to bring an action upon the SDP. [90]  At any rate, the following admission made by Atty. Gener Asuncion, counsel of HLI, during the oral arguments should put to rest any lingering doubt as to the status of protesters Galang, Suniga, and Andaya: Justice Bersamin: x x x I heard you a while ago that you were conceding the qualified farmer beneficiaries of Hacienda Luisita were real parties in interest?

There is no denying that ASB Realty, as the owner of the leased premises, is the real party-in-interest in the unlawful detainer suit. [51]  Real party-in-interest is defined as "the party who stands to be benefited or injured by the judgment in the suit, or the party entitled to the avails of the suit." [52]
