Considering that the agreement between the parties was not circumscribed by a definite period, its termination was subject to a condition the happening of a future and uncertain event.[42] The prevailing rule in conditional obligations is that the acquisition of rights, as well as the extinguishment or loss of those already acquired, shall depend upon the happening of the event that constitutes the condition.[43]
