| The Paez ruling was reiterated in Bwalya v. Zambia,[140] which involved a political activist and prisoner of conscience who continued to be intimidated, harassed, and restricted in his movements following his release from detention. In a catena of cases, the ruling of the Committee was of a similar import: Bahamonde v. Equatorial Guinea,[141] involving discrimination, intimidation and persecution of opponents of the ruling party in that state; Tshishimbi v. Zaire,[142]involving the abduction of the complainant's husband who was a supporter of democratic reform in Zaire; Dias v. Angola, [143] involving the murder of the complainant's partner and the harassment he (complainant) suffered because of his investigation of the murder; and Chongwe v. Zambia,[144] involving an assassination attempt on the chairman of an opposition alliance. | |||||
