| First, a plain reading of the Retirement Pay Law. R.A. No. 7641 originated from the House of Representatives as House Bill 317 which was later consolidated with Senate Bill 132. It was approved on December 9, 1992 and took effect on January 7, 1993.[38] Amending Article 287 of the Labor Code, it provides as follows:Art. 287. Retirement. - Any employee may be retired upon reaching the retirement age established in the collective bargaining agreement or other applicable employment contract. | |||||
