| We also do not agree with petitioner's insistence that Article J616 of the Civil Code applies in this case. As found by the CA, the provision only speaks of the amount to be tendered when exercising the right to repurchase, but it does not state the procedure to be followed in exercising the right. In feet, in Peralta v. Alipio,[38] we rejected the argument that the provisions on conventional redemption apply as supplementary law to the Public Land Act, and clarified that: xxx. The Public Land Law does not fix the form and manner in which reconveyance may be enforced, nor prescribe the method and manner in which demand therefor should be made; any act which should amount to a demand for reconveyance should, therefore, be sufficient.[39] (Underscoring supplied.) | |||||
